Magazine Character Profile
1.
The FAME Reader: Ricardo is 18 years of age and is zealous music fan. As an independent teen who just came out of a middle class family for someone of his age group. Ricardo enjoys going to the gym, hanging around with his friends and partying in his free time. Ricardo is of Caribbean and Latin descent this being the reason why he’s a fan of hip-hop and other musical genres. He enjoys reading the ‘Fame’ magazine to find out about his favourite artist and the music industry and he is also a part-time DJ plus he believes music motivates him to do so much more with it. Ricardo also performs at gigs and attends various concerts other than that he believes that his career is going to blow up.
2. I would target my music magazine to Ricardo by gaining information on artist that are from his favourite music genre e.g. Hip-Hop, Rock or R’n’B and I would focus on stories and information that are on these artist this includes; concert dates and album releases. I would even offer tickets to the target audience of my magazine to concerts of artist the like to make sure they constantly read the magazine and maybe advice for readers who are trying to get started in the music industry. Analysis 4
1) The amount of pictures used in this magazine are 6 each and everyone one of them above each other’s pictures with the number of there designated page beside the pictures.
2) 2) The contents page is laid out fine, each and every page in this magazine is labelled in the text box section this although not all pages are labelled (only important ones are, this isn't really good as readers would expect to see more items on the contents page). The color scheme for this magazines contents page is red, grey and black, this is also good since there’s not that much use of various colors clashing with each other this could also be a distraction for readers the white background makes the colors and the images of artist stand out.
1)
3)There’s six images of various artist being taken the one on the top is of Groove Armada is an English electronic music duo from London, England comprising Andy Cato and Tom Findlay. Both artist are Caucasian men and both look as if they’re in the mid – 20’s another artist is the first picture on the top of the page is of ‘Ian Brown’ another Caucasian who looks as if he’s in his old age also by looking at the way he is dressed he looks as if his musical genre focuses on rock music. Ian George Brown (born 20 February 1963 in Warrington) is an English musician, best known as the lead singer of the alternative rock band The Stone Roses, which broke up in 1996 but are confirmed to reunite in 2012. The next image below the groove armada picture is of the ‘U2’ singer called the ‘The Edge’ who is from the band that is also known as ‘U2’ he is also a Caucasian male who looks as if he’s in his 30s and his musical genre looks like it’s aimed at rock. U2 are an Irish rock band from Dublin. Formed in 1976, the group consists of Bono (vocals and guitar), The Edge (guitar, keyboards and vocals), Adam Clayton (bass guitar), and Larry Mullen, Jr. (drums and percussion). The next image is a big picture of Madonna who is an American singer-songwriter, actress and entrepreneur. That is also known as the Pop (music genre) queen for her amazing number hit songs he genre is basically pop, dance and rock. The image labelled 70 is of Björk an Icelandic singer-songwriter. Her eclectic musical style has achieved popular acknowledgement and popularity within many musical genres, such as rock, jazz, electronic dance music, classical and folk.
Analysis 3
1) The number of pictures used in this magazines contents page is one and it seems to also be the background picture for the contents page of the vibes magazine.
2) This contents page structure is also unusual and it is not like any other music magazines contents page its contents page structure is basically standard and it does not seem to come across like former music magazine contents pages. This magazine contents page lacks text columns and neither does it have the magazines masthead anywhere on it. The magazines categories and features are on the left side of the page which shows the names of the section in black and in a fancy type of font style. Besides that the background of this contents page is plain.
3) There are two artists being photographed on the contents page and it shows the image of two female artists both from the famous musical group known as ‘Young Money’ also known as Young Money Entertainment is an American record label founded by rapper Lil Wayne. Nicki Minaj is a Trinidadian born American recording artist signed to Young Money Entertainment and Shanell the Atlanta-based singer/songwriter is the Pop Fusion Gypsy of Lil Wayne’s eclectic label crew of winning artists Young Money, Universal/Young Money songstress Shanell aka SnL. Both artists are African-American women who are both in their early 20s both artist focus on the same musical genre seeing as there are both from the same musical entourage.
4) In the ‘Vibe’ magazine contents page the image of ‘Nick Minaj’ and ‘Shanell’ seems to win almost the whole of the entire page up to the contents page seems as if it is devoted to both these artist.

Analysis 2
1) The number of pictures used in this text is just two, one of a mid shot of a two artist who are probably in a band and the other of the front cover of a ‘NME’ music magazine front cover which also shows a close up of an artist in it.
2) This music magazine font page structure is like any other normal contents page it’s colour scheme matches it’s front cover and masthead. And there is a use of various pictures/images, headings and text boxes with the contents page. The top of the contents page has a border that says NME contents pages in bold sans serif font with the date of the magazines release date below it. There seems to be two category sections on both the left and right hand side of the page, but the category section is evident on the right hand side. It has a of various bands or artist in the news section and also other sections (Radar, Reviews, Live and Features) which are seen in text boxes and contents page has its main image is of the band that go by the name of arctic monkeys with the name of the band below the image and the number of the page beside it.
3) The artist in the main image is of the ‘Arctic Monkeys’ an English indie rock band. Formed in 2002 in High Green, a suburb of Sheffield, the band currently consists of Alex Turner (lead vocals, Lead/rhythm guitar), Jamie Cook (rhythm/lead guitar), Nick O'Malley (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Matt Helders (drums, percussion, backing vocals). Former members include Andy Nicholson (bass guitar, backing vocals) and Glyn Jones (lead vocals, rhythm guitar). The members of the band are all predominantly Caucasian males who look as if they’re in their early 20’s and the bands genre of music is Indie rock.
4) The pictures used in this text do not relate to each other in any kind of way, the image of the arctic monkeys seems to take a great amount of space the band even has its text box and small section that briefs the readers about the band.
Analysis 1
1) The amount of pictures used in this text is one and it is a large image of an artist that goes by the name of ‘Richard Ashcroft’. The image is also used as the background image for the contents page in the ‘Q’ magazine.
2) The contents page structure is simply standard and it doesn’t seem to look like other music magazine contents pages. Unlike other music magazines this magazines contents page simply has one image used within it and the image used is also the background image for the contents page. The features of the music magazines are listed on the left side of the magazine, the features that are listed there are in bold sans serif font with the number of the page beside the feature. The numbers of the features are in red or white while the features of the magazine are either in black or white. With some text below the feature in a small text font used to brief the readers. There is a border above the image of the artist which shows the ‘Q’ magazine logo on the top left side of the page with the words ‘235 contents’ and the issue of the magazine beside it. Last but not least it says ‘I fart in your direction’ Nick Valesni, The Strokes p12 at the bottom of this page above this is also a border and the image of the artist. This magazine lacks other images, columns and text boxes.
3) The artist being photographed is ‘Richard Ashcroft’ an English singer-songwriter. He was the lead singer and occasional guitarist of alternative rock band ‘The Verve’ from their formation in 1990 until their split in 1999, and continues as a lead vocalist working with guitars and keyboards. Later on he became a successful solo artist in his own right, by looking at the image of the artist we can see and tell that he looks like a rock ‘n’ roll type of artist , also by looking at his face we can tell that he is quite old (40 years of age).
4) In the ‘Q’ magazine contents page the image of ‘Richard Ashcroft’ seems to take up almost all of the page up the contents page seems as if it is dedicated to him but it is not we can only see one feature that is related to him in this magazine where it list one of his albums as one of the 100 greatest albums ever.
